Rachel Kefauver, CPA, Owner, CEO
Rachel grew up on a farm in Iowa and moved to New Mexico through a national student exchange program in college. With the beautiful weather and unique people, she’s been a NM resident ever since. Her family moved to the East Mountains in 2005, their two amazing kids are surrounded with a wonderful network of family and friends in this wonderful community.
Rachel has been a CPA since 1994 and has worked in both public and private accounting, including REDW, Intel, and Furr’s Supermarkets. She is a member of the AICPA and NMSCPA and a proud supporter of Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Mexico.
Rachel enjoys working as a CPA and helping her clients. When not working, she enjoys playing racquetball, camping with her family, and hanging out with family and friends.
Angela Davis, CPA, Principal Accounting Manager
Angela has lived in New Mexico for 40 plus years. She loves the beautiful weather which gives her time to enjoy different parts of nature from the forest to the lake. She enjoys living in the East Mountains because of the loving community. Angela is married with three children that attend school in the east mountains and participate in activities ranging from climbing to dancing. Angela loves to travel, hike, try local craft brews, and watch her children’s activities.
Angela graduated from UNM with a degree in accounting and is celebrating her 20th year in the accounting field. She has been with Kefauver CPA for over four years now and loves to develop the best support plan for each of our clients individual needs. She is an expert CPA and brings an added strength to our firm with her past experience as an auditor and as a controller for large non-profit organizations.
Spring Hill Edwards, Executive Assistant & Client Care Coordinator
Spring has been an East Mountain residence for almost ten years with her husband David and son Sam, as well as several years when she was growing up. She loves to be a part of this great community getting to know the local businesses and families through the school and the sports that her son plays in. Spring loves to be outside whenever possible and especially loves to hike to our local restaurants, coffee shops, and brewery. She also loves to camp and kayak with her family and is an avid cook.
Spring is excited to be with our firm and get to work so close to home. She also really loves to directly support our clients and help them feel cared for. Spring comes to us with several years of senior management and executive support experience and has a knack for organization and attention to detail. She also has over ten years of experience working with two national labs which brings a passion for privacy and data security.

Margarita Smith, Accounting Specialist
Margarita Smith was born in Medellin Colombia. She received her Bachelor Degree in Public Accounting from EAFIT University in Envigado, Colombia and transfered her degree to US in 2016. Prior to working with Kefauver CPA PC, she worked at Nordson in Andina, Colombia in the accounting Department where she was in charge of all the bookkeeping and financial planning. Before that she worked at Kimberly Clark and other Colombian companies as a bookkeeper. Margarita has been with Kefauver CPA for several years and we are so glad.
She has lived in the east mountains since 2006. All her extended family lives in Colombia so she enjoys visiting them on vacation whenever possible. She also enjoys spending time here with her two daughters and her husband on their beautiful and tranquil property in the mountains and getting to see all of the animals that visit her property. She also loves to paint.
Karen Marsalis, Accounting Specialist
Karen spent most of her early years living across the Eastern United States. She moved to New Mexico in 2004 where she and her husband began raising their family on running with the Road Runners and munching Green Chile!
Karen and her family moved to the East Mountains during the monsoons of 2013. You may see her in the area running with one of her three children, a son and two daughters. She and her husband enjoy running 10k and half marathon races and are hoping to cultivate a love of the sport as a family. She also enjoys hiking, camping, and gardening in these beautiful mountains!
She received her Accounting degree from Bryan College in the small town of Dayton, TN. She has a background in private industry accounting with a national trucking company and a local TV station, as well as public accounting in Lubbock, TX and Clovis, NM.
Nicole Barker, Administrative Assistant
Nicole has been an East Mountain resident since 1980 and feels blessed to have such deep roots in this community. Nicole and her husband have three children. In her free time, Nicole enjoys rocking on her front porch enjoying the beautiful New Mexico sunshine!
Nicole is a wonderful support for our office and provides exceptional care and courtesy to our clients and our staff. She loves building relationships with our clients and greeting old and new friends. Nicole finds joy in helping others and is happy to assist wherever she is needed.
Abbie & Tori
Abigail Bryant (right) is a senior at East Mountain High School where she is heavily involved in NHS, Student Council, Speech and Debate, and the Newspaper. Additionally, she loves to travel especially to San Diego, Disney Parks, and Durango. AT KCPA Abigail does Admin work and heads the marketing which is a passion of hers and is something she sees herself pursuing someday.
Tori Davis (left) is a junior at East Mountain High School where she is also involved in Student Council, NHS, and the Newspaper. Her passions are dance and art. She dances at Magnify doing everything from ballet to contemporary. This year Tori finialled in a national Holocaust art competition. AT KCPA Tori does Admin work and helps make sure the office is running so the others can focus on their jobs.
Both girls love KCPA where they are not only working but learning valuable life skills as well.
